“A terrible first date, but an excellent boyfriend”
^^ To my eternal surprise, the internet loved that one — shows what I know. I do know that I’m a terrible first date because I’m shy and just shockingly polite, but I also know I’m an excellent boyfriend because I’m a good listener and good at talking frankly about things.
A tangent: there’s a great phrase, in translation, in a book about tea: “the religion of the art of life”. This, add some of Auden’s “we must love one another or die”, and Butler’s “God is change”, is how I think I want to do it, in relationships and otherwise.
That got a bit sincere for a short version of a dating profile, but, you know — call me!
